Welcome to Sigma Alpha Omega’s ® Eighth Annual National Convention Website!

This year’s theme is “Sweet Southern Comfort: God is our Comforter” based on 2 Corinthians 1:3-5, “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. 5 For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ.” Come ready to meet other sisters and reunite with those you already know in a fun filled weekend full of spiritual enrichment through sisterhood!

Convention will be hosted by our Chi Chapter at University of South Carolina. Early check-in will begin at 5:00 PM on Thursday, May 31, 2012 (Eastern time).  

Regular check-in will be Friday, June 1, 2012 from 8:00-10:00 AM.

Normal checkout is Sunday morning beginning around 11:00 AM.

Arrangements will be made for those needing to check-out before 11:00 AM.

Every year we like to celebrate our wonderful Alumnae with a special luncheon. This luncheon is particularly special for our newest Alumnae and provides a unique opportunity for socializing and networking. This event is open only to Alumnae and takes place directly after the Business Meeting on Saturday.

Applications for this year's Convention Awards are now available. The National Board looks forward to recognizing chapters and individuals who have contributed to the sorority's success. Recipients of awards will be announced at the formal banquet on Saturday June 3, 2012. Please follow all instructions and email to the Convention Liaison no later than Sunday, April 15, 2012.

First held at the First Convention at NCSU this event is held the Friday night of Convention and has become a popular tradition. Each chapter will show-off their stuff through song, dance, magic, comedy, drama and other creative performance outlets. Why not consider costumes this year? Please limit your performance to five minutes or less.

Convention will be held at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina. If you are planning on flying to Convention, please plan to fly into Columbia Metropolitan Airport (CAE) Columbia, SC. Arrangements will be made to pick you up from the airport and drive you to campus.
